I was lazily working my way through the paper on a non-football Saturday morning and came across an interesting article. No, it wasn’t that The Woodlands boys and girls both won their varsity soccer games, as usual.

It was that long-time true family story teller and producer Norman Lear has a new project: Born Again American. It is an initiative that uses the lingo, vernacular and ecumenical pitch to get people to volunteer in their communities, vote and “talk back” to elected officials. In a nutshell, Norman Lear is starting a grassroots movement to hold yourself and your representatives accountable.

Read it for yourself. There are the ‘talking heads’ and there are those that “do”. Can you tell which one Norman Lear is?  He better be careful though.  This could mean an end to the bad connotation that the term ‘family values’ has to those that really have families….

Maybe I’ll read that section of the paper next week.
